Fail to prepare, Prepare to fail

Have you ever heard of the saying ‘fail to prepare, prepare to fail?’ It’s a saying that we feel is so applicable to day to day life. It could be as simple as checking and planning your route before you leave the house to bigger things like preparing for exams and job interviews. It’s something that is agreed on by many successful athletes, business owners etc, that without planning you will not get the results you’re after.

So, let’s put this planning into our skincare. What do we need to put into our pre game to get the results that we want? It is a point referred to time and time again that you need to put in some work before the getting ready stage of going out. We’re talking days and weeks before! But don’t worry these steps will be easy to incorporate into your day.

First up, hydrate! Get your H20 in. You should aim to drink anywhere between 3-4lt of water a day. This can change depending on your height and weight but a quick google search can give you a more accurate measure. Water will keep your body hydrated, refreshed and keep your skin’s elasticity. Drinking your recommended water will help prevent soft lines, wrinkles and even scars. This is your first step of preparation and probably one of the most important!

Next up make sure you’re having your vitamins. Don’t replace a healthy diet for vitamins but vitamins can be a great way of making sure you reach all of your daily recommended intakes. Some of the common nutrients in hair, skin, and nail supplements include antioxidants like vitamins A, C, and E, or Coenzyme Q10, and also biotin, a B-complex vitamin. Hair supplements often contain manganese and selenium as well as fatty acids like fish oil and flaxseed oil. If you do have an insufficient intake of vitamins A and E this can actually cause rough, scaly skin patches. Similarly a deficiency of biotin may cause eczema and hair loss. A great starter for supplements may be multivitamin tablets or specific hair, skin and nail tablets (please do consult with your doctor first).

Last up is regular maintenance. Regular maintenance is great preparation. Putting face cream on once won’t solve all your problems and give you great skin (as amazing as that would be)! However, a regular skin care and grooming regime will make a huge difference. Be consistent and listen to your skin. Your skin will not be the same all year round. It will often change with seasons and just generally over time. This makes it so important to listen to your skin and pay attention to when you may need to switch up your regime.

Making sure you have a successful pre game means you have a chance for the best result! It sets you up for success. So what is the best way to keep on top of a perfect pre game? Subscribe to OMORFOS !
